Michael Graves' kettle is recognised worldwide as an icon of contemporary design, its mix of pop and postmodern sensibilities long since established. To mark the design's 30th anniversary in 2015, Graves reworked the whistle, transforming the familiar little bird into something between a dragon and a flying dinosaur, a creature that stands for strength and good fortune in Chinese culture and makes a playful good-luck charm for the kitchen.
The kettle is 18/10 stainless steel with a black handle and a copper-metallic reptilian whistle in PA, and its magnetic steel bottom suits induction. It stands about 8.86 inches high with an 8.66-inch diameter and holds 67.6 fl oz.
