Alessandro Mendini has said the idea began with a childhood memory: watching his grandmother open a bottle of wine as though it were a small performance. He sketched a figure with the same theatrical quality — a smiling, dancer-like form — and Alberto Alessi, noticing its resemblance to a friend of Mendini's, encouraged him to run with it. That figure, Anna G., has been in continuous production since 1994 and has become one of Alessi's most recognizable characters.

This edition belongs to the Colour Tales series, a set of new colorways drawn from Mendini's own chromatic research, keeping the original silhouette but reintroducing it in fresh finishes.
