A tray with a story behind its shape, drawn from the stones of a Chinese scholar's garden.
Clouds Root was designed by Wang Shu of Amateur Architecture Studio as part of Alessi's "(Un)Forbidden City" project. The form takes its cue from the garden stones of the Academics, read as clouds, and belongs to a pair of trays, one large and one small, conceived as a set for the kitchen and the living room.
It is made in polished stainless steel with a bright silver finish and measures 54 by 30 centimetres.
