Discolo, Centre-Piece

A centrepiece with a generous rim, inspired by the aluminium trays that serve Kölsch beer in Cologne. Federico Angi designed Discolo for Alessi as a seemingly simple form that hides a more complex construction beneath its familiar shape.

It is turned from a single anodized aluminium sheet, offered in three colours — light blue, green and orange — with the anodization giving each a strong, saturated presence. The dish is low and wide: two and a half centimetres deep across a thirty-four-centimetre diameter.
