Lotus Leaf Centerpiece, White

A centrepiece cast from a real lotus leaf, left to dry and then scanned.

A Lotus Leaf is Chang Yung Ho's design for Alessi, part of the (Un)Forbidden City collection. Its form began as an actual lotus leaf, dried for six months, then digitised with a three-dimensional scanner and turned into a mould, so the veins and gentle curl of the original survive in the finished piece. This is the white version.

Both a serving tray and a quiet natural sculpture, it brings an organic, considered stillness to a dining table or console.
