Designed by Michele De Lucchi — the Milanese architect and product designer known for his work with the Memphis Group — the Plissé kettle takes its name and its ridged, folded surface from fabric pleating. The effect is closer to a sculpted textile than a standard countertop kettle, a piece meant to be seen rather than hidden in a cupboard.

At 1.7 litres it holds enough for a full pot of tea or a round of coffee, sized to stay out on the counter between uses.
