The Tonale service, designed by David Chipperfield, draws on the chromatic intensity of Japanese lacquers and the tonal restraint of the painter Giorgio Morandi. This tall bowl in black gives a table quiet drama, its form pared back to essentials so that colour and proportion do the work.

Standing 11 cm high with an 18 cm diameter and a generous 140 cl capacity, it suits soup or a shared centrepiece. A single piece that sets the mood for an elegantly composed table.
